Coming July 3, 2009. Le Beau Soleil Gallery, in Pacific Grove, presents a new exhibit featuring the unique work of Sally Giddings Smith and others with an artist’s reception the evening of Friday, July 3, from 5 to 8pm. Smith offers a broad collection of botanical watercolors of local and exotic wildflowers in this show called “Summer’s Artistic Abundance”. Many will recognize Smith’s work from a recent exhibit at the Pacific Grove Art Center. These works are small, well-framed watercolors done with a special Japanese pen. Le Beau Soleil Gallery owner, Robert Lewis, says this about Smith’s work: “Colorful, simple and straightforward in their presentation, Sally Giddings Smith’s work is immanently collectible and affordable. The volume of her work is prodigious and the response to it is wonderful.”
Le Beau Soleil Gallery has created a unique and appealing atmosphere for the display of talented local artists such as Sally Giddings Smith and the other Le Beau Soleil artists, Carol Bestor, June Levin, Elizabeth Meyer, Kathy Sharpe, and Murray Wagnon. This charming and popular gallery has occupied a place in the heart of beautiful downtown Pacific Grove on Forest Avenue near the intersection of Forest and Lighthouse Avenues for nearly six years. Many people comment on its walls of mural work and plaster embellishments.
The reception will be 5pm to 8pm, Friday, July 3, 2009, at Le Beau Soleil Gallery, 210 ½ Forest Avenue, Pacific Grove, CA 93950, near many fine restaurants, the Pacific Grove Art Center, and several other galleries.

Le Beau Soleil, French for “the beautiful sun”, has assembled a fine group of artists who paint in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pen and ink. Dozens of beautiful, sunny pieces on the subject of the sun in summer have been pulled together to brighten up the collector’s heart. The local California artists featured in this show are Judy Christen, Tom Davies, Susan Ewell, Annette Foisie, Carol Heaton, Elizabeth Meyer, Eva Nichols, Karlene Ryan, Sarah Madsen, Rose Sloan, Murray Wagnon, and Cindy Wilbur.
