Annette Foisie

Annette Foisie

For Annette Foisie, plein-air painting is a form of worship. Her oil paintings, created outdoors in scenes of beauty and majesty, such as Point Lobos, and our local environment, such as Del Monte Beach at sunrise and sunset, have one aim: to portray her respect and love for the awesome scenery of central California. The paintings are signed with a cross, indicating that they were created in prayer.

Annette is a colorist, loving the vibrant and expressive palette of outdoor scenes; it is only in rainy season that she paints still life indoors.

Annette has exhibited work at the Rowayton Arts Center, Rowayton,
Conn., at the Hilton Head Art Center, and the Self Family Arts Center, Hilton
Head, S.C., and White Oak Gallery , Carmel Valley, CA. She was juried in to be
an art teacher in the South Carolina school system by the South Carolina Arts
Commission.

"As I am of French heritage, (the Foisie family comes from the Champagne region, northeast of Paris), I have always been intrigued by, and have studied, the French Impressionists like Claude Monet, and their influence can be seen in my work.'
