Cindy WilburCindy was born and raised in San Diego. She has loved art as far back as she can remember. Her letters to Santa were always for art supplies and dolls. After outgrowing dolls, her parents converted her playhouse into her first studio. In her mid twenties she moved to the Central Valley of California. At the time she was painting in a more whimsical style. Her work was featured and sold in galleries and shops along the Pacific Coast. In her thirties, she graduated from The University of The Pacific in Stockton with a multiple subject credential and a supplemental credential in Art. Cindy taught second grade for several years and during the summers she taught private art classes for children. Since that time, Cindy's work has encompassed many different styles and mediums. Until recently, she was doing mostly portrait work, trying to capture the likeness of her models. She is now painting more figurative work. Her focus is trying to capture a "Moment in Time." Her interest is in the story of what her subjects are doing or feeling rather than in their likeness, hopefully evoking a similar memory for her viewers. Although oil is her favorite medium, she will occasionally use watercolor and acrylic. Cindy now has a home in Carmel, which was her life-long dream, now she is able to spend more time painting outdoors. Her time is divided between Carmel and the Central Valley. Cindy has studied under such artists: Brian Blood, Bob Burridge, Jeffery Watts, Timothy Theis, Anita Louise West, Mark Farina, Johnnie Liliedahl, Dean Packer, Gil Dellinger and Peggy Knoll Roberts.
